We've just acquired this rather dated semi - sprucing up the outside for about 200 quid? Open to ideas!?
try a desert landscape. it's fairly easy and not terribly expensive if you do it yourself. choose a good tree. something well-suited to your climate as the center piece. then choose about 10-15 different size shrubs to dot the rest of the landscape. if you choose drought tolerant plants you can use a dripper system that saves lots and lots of water. they're also very easy and inexpensive to lay down and maintain vs. a traditional pvc system. the rest of the landscape (i.e. the dirt) will be covered over with quarry rock. it kinda looks like the driveway is already done that way. you can choose a similar rock or something different. the only problem may be with weeds. if you have very fertile soil you may have to lay down plastic sheeting before the rock otherwise you'll end up pulling weeds way to often.
