Iam being asked to upgrade to a premier account on ebay?

i just sold my 4th item on ebay for 20 quid + postage i went to accept payment from customer and it said i should upgrade to premier account why is this as i am only selling a few items now and then.they want to charge 3.4% on my money if i upgrade please help i dont understand
