Help With Tax Exemptions For Retired Military?
The best thing I can tell you is to change it to 2 for now. The screwed up thing and the one thing I hate is you only get one 1099R unless you or they make a change to it. Now if you change it to 2 they should reflect a new 1099R on mypay showing the new exemptions. Go back and look and see if it put the $70.00 or close to it back into your take home pay. If not bump it to 3. I think 2 exemptions will do it though or get you really close. Just go in increments and see what happens the following month. Or you could bump it to 3 now and if it is too much then knock it back down to 2. Just stick with the numbers and that will get you there. If you just put married you will end up having about 0 taken out of your check. That's the new stimulus, give you all your money now then stick you with the same taxes at the end of the year as a nice surprise. Screwed me two years in a row.
