The oil company's control the price of oil by pumping less of it and?

closing down oil refineries. They have done both of these. One oil company bought out a private refinery and promised the people working there they would not shut it down. It was closed up in less than 30 days. You can't tell me their not out to control the price of oil. This has got nothing to do with economics 101, the rising price of all commodities, etc. It has to do with gouging the American people. Agree or disagree?
