Swollen hand?

This morning I woke up with the part bellow my thumb of my left palm swollen. I don't know if I've been bitten by something even though it doesn't look bitten at all or if because the impact my hand made when I slammed my door shut for silence (wild barking dogs) caused the minor swelling. I do remember it hurting a little, but I was too sleepy to care.
