I'm looking for directions to a Thanksgiving craft we did in grade school.?

It was made from construction paper, and I vaguely remember folding the brown paper in half and cutting slits in it about 1 inch apart (as you would if making a paper lantern). Beyond that, I don't recall much, except for looping a piece of brown paper and gluing it to the body for the head. And of course gluing orange, red and yellow feathers to the tail. I'd love to share the craft with my children, but I can't remember what to do to form the body after cutting the slits!
